Now in his tenth year with the Chicago Park District, Mr. Scott has overseen numerous initiatives that were created to enhance programs and services within the parks and to foster career development of his staff. During his nearly four-year term as the Park Supervisor for the Douglas Park Cultural and Community Center, he was instrumental in fundraising of over $100,000 for park patron programs and augmentation of the grounds. Later, his passion for cultivating careers led him to develop a sports training program for employees in the Central Region. This model is now being used to train employees citywide. Most recently, Mr. Scott secured a grant for $100,000 for a series of music concerts to be held in area parks on the West Side of Chicago. Earlier in his career, Mr. Scott was an assistant project manager with the Public Building Commission of Chicago. There he worked in conjunction with the Chicago Park District, Chicago Public Schools and the Local School Councils to design and develop Campus Parks. Following his service there, he worked for After School Matters as a consultant helping to develop their KidStart website.
